Accounts Receivable Specialist — Remote | Law Firm Collections

A thriving Mid-Atlantic law firm with 150+ legal professionals across 13 offices is seeking an organized, detail-driven Accounts Receivable Specialist to join its Finance Department. This is a fully remote role supporting the collections function of a well-established, growing practice serving local, national, and international businesses, financial institutions, and insurance companies.
What You'll Do
- Prepare, generate, and review monthly receivables reports for Billing Partners
- Coordinate with AP, Billing, and Appeals teams to maintain accurate records of all open receivables
- Research billing sites for invoice statuses and contact client adjusters regarding past-due invoices
- Maintain precise documentation of client responses and route records for escalated follow-up
- Keep Matter Billing Partners regularly informed on the status of their AR
- Monitor payment tracking and appeal statuses; process write-offs with proper authorization
What You'll Need
- 5+ years of law firm collections and legal billing experience
- Hands-on experience with **Aderant** (required)
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred — equivalent education and experience considered
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable working with attorneys and clients alike
- Meticulous attention to detail and deadline management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
